就是愛咩

兩年半前，4隻被台灣人棄養的毛小孩，分別被紐約的4個家庭收養。（沒錯，台灣人棄養，外國人收養，以下是個丟臉丟到國外的故事...）

當時我護送著他們到達紐約機場，而現在的他們都各自有了溫暖的家。

今天收到中途媽媽Joan的來信，告訴我其中一隻從花蓮收容所救援出來的混拉拉Dolly(現已改名Daisy)近況，看著看著..都忍不住開心的掉眼淚，感動...

孩子們，一切努力，在看到這些照片後，都值得了...

這是當時的Daisy，大肚子，被主人遺棄在花蓮收容所，收容所內生下寶寶，不過因為太虛弱，所有寶寶都死亡了，

可憐的母拉拉，終於在11/25被中途媽媽Joan救援離開收容所，當時罹患愛利希體和梨形鞭毛蟲。

兩年半後的現在，Daisy已經成為家中的一份子，和家中的另一隻狗Cassie成為好朋友，爸爸說Daisy性情很好，很愛人，很黏人，也很會撒嬌，幾乎每一個晚上牠都會跳上沙發躺在爸媽的懷裡睡著，他感覺Daisy已經跟他們在一起很久了。

Joan說，三個月前認養爸媽把後院都用圍籬圍起來, 好幫助Daisy 運動
因為在過去的一年內Daisy 的體重曾迅速增加到73磅 (約33公斤)
獸醫建議應該把Daisy 的體重控制在27公斤以下
所以爸媽正在積極地幫Daisy 減肥, 二月份稱重時, Daisy已經比先前瘦了3-4公斤左右

令人很開心的是，今年6月，媽媽生了一個小弟弟，爸爸說：Daisy現在是“大姊姊”了！！

每當看到毛小孩找到溫暖的家，都無比開心，所有所有的努力在這時候，都化作感動和淚水，雖然台灣的棄養動物比例在先進國家來說真的很高，但是依然很感謝有這群默默的在奉獻愛的中途媽媽們。

我的朋友們，也許你（妳）能力時間有限，但盡自己綿薄之力就好，幫助流浪動物幾包飼料，一些尿片，都很好。盡力從自身到家人朋友，不棄養動物，愛他一輩子。

Hi Joan,

Wow, two years! That is quite some time but it actually feels like we've had Daisy longer. She's become such a part of our little family. She is an absolute lover and snuggler. She loves attention and will jump up and fall asleep with us on the sofa almost every night. 

We had a fence put in our backyard about 3 months ago and the exercise in the yard has definitely helped. Since then, we've noticed that Daisy has lost a noticeable amount of weight. She was weighed in February at about 73 lbs but has most likely lost 5 - 10 lbs since then with exercise and weight control dog food (Blue Buffalo - thanks again for recommending that brand!). The vet put her ideal weight at around 55 - 60, so she has a little more to go. She's looking and acting healthier than ever!

Losing her hair would appear to be an ongoing issue. The vet attributed it to lack of sunlight over the winter, so she is on melatonin pills. She lost some hair again this year in March, but it has almost all grown back by now. It doesn't bother her at all. 
I've attached some pictures taken over the past few months. As you can see, Daisy is having a great time in her forever home and is absolutely best friends with our other dog, Cassie. 

Also, we recently just had our first child. Tiffany and I are actually still in the hospital, so the baby will be brought home this Saturday. Daisy will be a big sister! I'm sure she will be great with the baby as she hasn't had any problems with our friends' children.
